Yukiko Inoue-SmithDr. Yukiko Inoue-Smith, a professor of Educational Psychology and Research at the 91快播 School of Education announces the release of her new book, The Wail of Gaea, published by David Publishing.

The book features a forward from Olympia Terral and illustrations from UOG alumnus Omron Monroe Soto.

About the Book

Compared to haiku, Japan鈥檚 oldest and most esteemed poetry genre called 鈥渢anka鈥 is not as familiar to people in the United States or rest of the world. In recent decades, however, Inoue-Smith has come to realize that tanka is becoming increasingly popular among Western readers, presumably because they recognize that this ancient poetic style provides an ideal format and length for expressing their emotions. This book is an introduction to a new creation of the English language tanka (or American tanka). This book is also a collaboration of art and poetry.
