$10M NextGen grant gets off the ground with inception workshop
An inception workshop hosted by the 91快播 College of Natural & Applied
Sciences in September brought together the six collaborating institutions of its . Over its five-year timespan, this $10 million USDA National Institute of Food and
Agriculture-funded project will be creating pathways for students in the Marianas
to pursue and succeed in the fields of food, agriculture, and natural resources, with
a focus on federal positions.
The program will include opportunities for students enrolled at UOG, Northern Marianas College, and Guam Community College to engage in course sharing, internships, and experiential learning opportunities with the larger institutions of the University of Florida, Utah State University, and the University of Hawai鈥檌 at M膩noa.
NextGen 鈥 short for USDA NIFA's 鈥 is a $262 million investment in higher education institutions through the Inflation Reduction Act. UOG's grant is one of 33 awarded to minority-serving institutions across the nation.
