UOG to host seminar on minimum wage impacts
The 91快播's Regional Center for Public Policy will be hosting a research seminar on the topic of minimum wage impacts. The featured speaker will be Dr. Roseann Jones, professor of economics at the 91快播 with a presentation titled 鈥淎nother Look at Minimum Wage 鈥撯 Current, Past, and Future.鈥
Minimum wage is making headlines again 鈥 this time with a bit of good news about jobs, the economy, and wages. The average wage of lower income workers in the United States has increased by 6% with a forecast that job stability will continue in the near term. Guam is also taking another look at minimum wage, with senators introducing a bill on May 13 to raise Guam鈥檚 minimum wage to $8.75 per hour by March 1, 2020, and to $9.25 by March 1, 2021.
This presentation offers a look at the national discussion, a reflection on Guam鈥檚 minimum wage at $8.25, and the outlook for minimum wage at $9.25. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation.
