The community is invited to join in the celebration of the 54th Annual University of Guam Charter Day: Charting a Course for New Horizons. This year鈥檚 Charter Day celebrations will include both virtual and in-person events.

Starting with a livestream proclamation signing at 10:30 a.m. this Friday, the Charter Day celebration will continue over the next two weeks with a livestream ceremony, three community festivals taking place on the UOG campus, and the annual CHamoru Language Competition for K-12 students, which will be livestreamed.

The annual Charter Day celebration marks the anniversary of the university鈥檚 founding in 1952 and the signing of the charter that renamed the Territorial College of Guam to the 91快播 in 1968. In typical years, the event is an all-day community event, welcoming more than 6,000 people to the campus for events and activities in nearly every department.

This year鈥檚 theme 鈥 Charting a Course for New Horizons 鈥 looks to the future of the university鈥檚 role in academics, research, and service in the region.
